Page 1 of 7 Cleveland, Ohio-based multi-instrumentalist singer-songwriter Paul Christensen's versatility and wide range of musical tastes have taken him on a far-flung journey over the past four decades. His ability to play multiple keyboards, synthesizers, flute and sax as well as to sing enable him to slip into many different situations and build lasting professional relationships. His love for communicating with others through music has not diminished over the years but grown only stronger through his experimentation and experiences with a diversity of styles.
Paul Wolf Christensen's musical odyssey began in Queens, New York where he was born. He dove into music in elementary school with piano and clarinet, later adding flute, saxophones and various keyboards to his arsenal of music-making tools. He took the middle name Wolf to honor his maternal grandfather.
"My grandfather was a gifted concert violinist educated at the Vienna Conservatory of Music and had a huge influence on me growing up," he says. "He lived with us for many years so we always had classical music playing in the house. Having two sisters and a brother that were all musical, we spent time singing around the piano in four-part harmony, while my mom accompanied us. My grandfather would entertain guests by playing the violin with my mom on piano, and when he played it seemed like time stood still. There was seldom a dry eye in the house. I got a good background in classical music at a very young age."
